July 13, significant day in K-history: Malik
Srinagar, July 9: The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Muhammad Yasin Malik on Monday described July 13, as the brightest and most significant day in the history of Kashmir.
“It is on this day in 1931 our ancestors openly refused to live the life of slavery and marked the beginning of practical struggle for freedom with their blood, standing firm and taking bullets of oppressor’s army on their chests,” said Malik while addressing a meeting of Front leaders and workers here.
Malik said the martyrs of July 13, 1931, added a golden chapter to the history of Kashmir. “The incident proved that Kashmiris had never willingly accepted the alien rule in Kashmir and they always fought against it in one or the other,” he said.
Malik said, “Shaheed-e- Azam Muhammad Maqbool Bhat smiling kissed gallows in Tihar Jail, New Delhi, to carry forward the mission of July 13, martyrs. Thereafter, lakhs of Kashmiris followed the same path, nurturing the Kashmir movement with their blood and the process of struggle and sacrifices is still going on without any let up.”
Malik called upon the people to remember the supreme sacrifices of ancestors and continue it till the objective was achieved.
The JKLF expressed deep sorrow over the demise of the wife of Ajaz Ahmad Chaya and Bashir Ahmad Lone of Tangmarg, sympathizing with the bereaved family.
It has also mourned the demise of the mother of Bashir Ahmad Wani of Rafiabad.
