Kashmiri girl shines in Maharashtra
Srinagar, July 9: A Maharashtra based Kashmiri 12-year old girl has shined in the field of athletics in Maharashtra.
Uqba Rafiq Bhat, who lives currently in Mumbai along with her family after breaking into the athletic has won several laurels in her short career.
In 2011-12 she participated in various district, zonal and state level athletic events and bagged medals in every event.
In Mumbai, YMCA 35th state level athletics meet, she finished first in 300 meters with (49.3secs) and second in 100 meters with the timing of (14.9 secs).
In Pionsur Gymphana, she bagged second place in long jump (4.7mtrs), first in high jump (1.18 mtrs), first in 200 mtr sprint (30.6 secs) and first in 100 mtr sprint (14.40 secs)
In the inter-zonal athletics event she bagged first 70 mtr sprint with the timing of 9.3 seonds while second in relay. She has bagged first place in long jump.
In the elite athletic event Maharashtra state level championship 2011/12 of the Maharashtra she bagged three gold medals. She bagged first places in long jump 4.78mtrs (record jump), 100mrts sprint and in relay race.
