DSEK seeks report on camping ‘menace’
Srinagar, July 11: Day after Greater Kashmir carried a news report about the concern in general public over the safety of schoolgirls being taken by some reputed private educational institutions for camps, Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK), Muhammad Shafi Rather Wednesday said that he has sought a report from Chief Education Officer Srinagar in this regard.
“I have asked the CEO Srinagar to submit a report on the issue within four days the camping issue seems to have become a menace,” Rather told GK.
Rather said he has asked CEO to see as to how private schools were taken girl students for camps without seeking requisite permission from DSEK and also without seeking the consent of the parents.
DSEK said action would be taken against these schools under SRO-123 as he has been receiving reports about fleecing by these educational institutions in the name of organizing camps.
