Jamallatta hails firefighting
FIREMAN TO GET RS 20000 RELIEF
Srinagar, July 11: The Director General, Fire & Emergency Services, J&K sanctioned relief of Rs 20000 in favor of Muhammad Munawar Rather, out of Departmental Welfare Fund to meet his immediate medical expenses following his getting wounded in the firefighting in old City last night.
“The fireman was seriously injured in the firefighting operation during the intervening night of July 10 and 11 at Jamallata Syed Hamidpora involving one three storied residential house,” an official handout said.
“The FESD Headquarters, SH Pora, MR Gunj and Safa Kadal attended the Fire Call and the operation was conducted under the supervision of Deputy Director, FESD Srinagar. "
Meanwhile the residents of Jamalatta have hailed the efforts of fireman who saved the entire Mohalla from being gutted.
“It was because of the firemen that our Mohalla could be saved,” the residents said.
