BJP agitation
This refers to the BJP leader L K Advani warning that the party will launch fresh agitation if any attempt was made to reverse the integration process of Kashmir with India. I think Mr Advani is grossly mistaken with the facts about the history of Kashmir. In the first place, the so-called interlocutors have not suggested anything related to giving autonomy to Jammu and Kashmir. So why is BJP making an issue out of nothing. Second there is no question of abrogation of Article 370 which gives special status to Jammu and Kashmir. Any such move will harm the interest of Kashmir and throw Kashmir into the pool of violence once again. Probably the BJP is underestimating the importance of Article 370. Even the ruling politicians have made it clear that no such attempt from BJP or any other party would be tolerated. So Mr Advani is making a futile attempt by making such statements which hold little weight. BJP must set its image right, which it has lost especially in Kashmir.
