Rising unemployment
This refers to the news regarding ASCENT Group function at SKICC wherein the Chief Minsiter Omar Abdullah has talked about the youth of Jammu and Kashmir. While there is no doubt that there has been a “positive transformation taking place in the mindset of youth regarding their first preference for government jobs,” but this does not absolve the Government of its responsibility. The Government has to ensure creation of more and more jobs in the government sector. That is because private sector is very negligible in Kashmir and not able to address the problem of rising unemployment in the state. So there is no point expressing satisfaction over this transformation. However I completely agree with the Chief Minister that youth are future of the state and their development and progress is to be carried forward by as per their dreams. But that is possible only if the youth are given a chance to have their say, which is sadly not the case in JK.
