Gujjar Mahasaba seeks separate sub-plans for STs, SCs
GK NEWS NETWORK
Jammu, July 13: In the wake of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah discussing and finalizing the State Plan 2012-13 with the Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission of India at New Delhi, the Akhil Bharatiya Gujjar Mahasaba Friday said while it is appreciable that the Chief Minister is perusing the case, it is ironical that the state government had not yet prepared “separate Sub Plans for Schedule castes and Schedule Tribes.”
In a statement, Eshfaq ur Rehman Poswal, State President ABGM said: “it is an astonishing moment that the Chief Minister is going to meet the Planning Commission of India authorities without having any separate Sub Plans for SCs and STs and keeping the Directorate of Tribal Affairs and Nodal Agency excluded from the scene.”
“Whenever we approach the Directorate of Tribal Affairs regarding the formulation of Tribal Sub Plan, the authorities there always show ignorance regarding the matter saying they are not made aware of the Plans by the higher authorities,” Poswal said.
Poswal said that with their “long time efforts and repeated demands the state government had to appoint consultants comprising of retired officers from Planning Department, but still after a period of three months there is no result of these efforts.”
