Ramban, July 14: Vehicular traffic on Srinagar-Jammu highway remained suspended for more than three hours after heavy rains triggered landslides, here at Seri.
Huge boulders came on the road following which authorities suspended the traffic near Seri and Kela Morh. Long queues of heavy and light motor vehicles, including those of Amarnath Yatris were seen stranded on either side of the highway.
While BEACON pressed in its men and machinery, it took about three hours to clear the road and restore the traffic.
A police officer said the traffic movement was suspended for three hours as a precautionary measure, keeping in view the safety and security of the commuters.
