FAN GETS POLICE BEATING

Srinagar, July 15: Police on Sunday beat up ruthlessly a teen-aged boy outside the Bakshi Stadium, who had come to witness the friendly match between Mohammedan Sporting Club, Kolkatta and Jammu and Kashmir XI.
The 6th class student, Shahid Manzoor, son of Manzoor Ahmad Wani of Batmaloo was beaten when he was standing in a long queue waiting to enter the stadium.
“I was standing along with my father in the queue. My father had just entered the stadium gate and a policeman for unknown reasons hit on my head with his baton,” Shahid said, with tears in his eyes.
After Shahid was beaten, blood spilled profusely from his head. His face, body and all clothes were stained with blood.
The boy said some policemen boarded him into their vehicle and bandaged his injury.
“It is all inhumane, What was the crime of my son?” Shahid’s father Manzoor Ahmad.
