DDCs Jammu, Ramban finalize arrangements for Ramadhan

Jammu, July 16: While divisional administration in Kashmir is yet to call a meeting finalizing arrangements for Ramadhan to commence from weekend, the District Development Commissioners Jammu and Ramban on Monday convened a meeting of senior officers and representatives of civil society to chalk out programme in this regard.
 DDC Jammu Sanjeev Verma directed the concerned departments to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply and medicare during Ramadhan days. The CA&PD authorities were directed to ensure adequate supply of ration especially rice, sugar and kerosene oil. Verma stressed for maintaining check on rates and quality adding that Food Safety Act should be implemented in letter and spirit.
 He also directed JMC authorities to maintain cleanliness in and around the mosques and installation of flood lights around Jamia Masjid at Talab Khatikan.
 Also Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Shabir Ahmad Bhat, convened an officers meeting to review the arrangements being made by various departments for  month of Ramadan. The XEN, PDD Batote was directed to ensure adequate power supply  especially during Iftaar and Sehari time in all parts of the district.
