Govt nails Sectoral Officers, restricts tour days

Jammu, July 16: Taking strong exception to the repeated complaints about the non-availability of the district and sectoral officers at their respective places of postings, government today restricted the touring activities of the senior officials.
 Sources in the General Administrative Department said that frequent complaints were pouring in about the non-availability of the officers at their offices especially in the far flung areas.
 “We also came to know that some officers were remaing out of their offices for entire week causing great problems to the public at large”, an official in the GAD said.
 He added that the district and sectoral officers have now been asked to restrict their tours. “It has been decided that Monday and Thursday of every week shall be observed as non-touring days by all the District/Sectoral Officers so as to ensure that the grievances/problems of general public are addressed to”, the circular issued by the GAD reads.
 “Further, all the Administrative Secretaries/ Heads of Departments/ Deputy Cornmissioners/District/Sectoral Officers shall ensure strict implementation of the instructions issued by the General Administration Department under No:19-GAD of 2010 dated 13th September,2010 and No:21-GAD of 2010 dated 26th November,2010”, it added.
