JU takes admission seekers for ride
RANJANA CHARAK
Jammu, July 17: The students selected in the first selection list in Education Department, University of Jammu for admission in M.Ed course, faced harassment today for hours together as admission process was not started till noon on the first day.
While all other departments of Jammu University were busy in making admissions, admission seekers in Department of Education remained perplexed and confused due to inactiveness of the department resulting in delayed start in the admission process.
Pertinently, as per statue if a candidate fails to seek admission at any department on the set date, his/her claim for admission is supposed to be cancelled to pave way for other students in waiting list. Even admission can’t be made even with late fee.
Like all the departments were busy in admission process, students at Department of Education also started visiting the department by 9:30 am and by 10 am almost all selected candidates had reached the department but there was no official on duty to make admissions.
Further mismanagement and casual approach of the department came to fore as the administration even didn’t deemed it necessary to inform the candidates about the reason or when the process will start. There was scene of complete chaos and confusion as students were f in situation where they don’t know where to go, whom to concern, what to do?
Though the candidate tried to confirm from the officials of the department about the reason but they got no clue.
