Sajad Lone hits out at Rana
CABLE NETWORK CRISIS
UMER MAQBOOL
Srinagar, July 17: Peoples Conference Chairman Sajjad Gani Lone on Tuesday accused Chief Minister’s Political Advisor, Devendar Singh Rana, of using official machinery to maintain his monopoly over cable television network in the Valley.
Addressing a news conference here Lone said that Rana was using police to harass cable operators and has issued a “diktat to beam only his two channels, TAKE-1 and JK channel else transmission of satellite television channels will be stopped to them.”
“An SP of JK Police and a DySP have gone around and harassed cable operators yesterday under the supervision and orders of the CM’s Political Advisor,” he alleged.
“How a person from Jammu can create monopoly over cable business in the Valley? It is an anti-Kashmir move and I appeal Peoples Democratic Party, separatist leadership and conscientious people of National Conference to raise their voice against the move,” Lone said.
