PC cries discrimination in Amira Kadal
Constituency being governed selectively, manipulatively: Junaid Mattu
Srinagar, July 18: Peoples Conference led by Sajad Gani Lone Wednesday took a dig at ruling National Conference led coalition accusing it of discrimination within City’s Amira Kadal constituency.
The PC’s Srinagar head Junaid Azim Mattu, in a statement “lashed out at the administration, the incumbent representative for Amira Kadal constituency and the ruling party for selectively governing the constituency in a manner that suits its manipulative modus operandi.”
“While most of the constituency, especially the rundown areas and economically downtrodden pockets are without basic facilities, governance and public infrastructure; the demographically rich and elite areas of the constituency are being decorated almost on a daily basis,” he alleged.
Stating that “lamposts and lights are not an alternative for governance”, Junaid said: “People who had cast their votes in the last election were exploited on a string of promises and have been left in the lurch by the elected representative for Amira Kadal.”
Junaid Mattu alleged that “the MLA from Amira Kadal is so overburdened and distracted by perhaps a record number of proxy portfolios that he has absolved himself of the governance related responsibility that he has towards the people of the constituency.”
Stating that the areas of rural Rawalpora, Wanabal and Gangabug are without basic public infrastructure and facilities, he said the ruling party and its representative for the constituency have “unfortunately decided to exploit the backwardness of these areas for strategic vote-bank politics.”
“The inhabitants of Chinar Bagh, who belong to a certain exploited and economically downtrodden community, have been left in a dilemma regarding their future,” he added.
