NHPC Row: Bandipora MLA supports protesters
Threatens agitation if demands not met

Mantrigam,(Bandipora), July 20: Supporting the ongoing protests of villagers against the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC), senior PDP leader and MLA Bandipora Nizamudin Bhat Friday threatened to launch agitation if the authorities fail to fulfill demands of the villagers.
The villagers are demanding employment in the Corporation. They have stopped work on the Kishenganga Hydro Electric Power project.
The protests entered third day on Friday.
Bhat said the demands of the protesters are genuine. “It is unfortunate that the NHPC authorities have not responded to the genuine demands of the villagers who have suffered lot due to the construction of the Kishanganga project,” he said. “Government should fulfill the demands of the villagers. If they fail to do so, we have no option other than to lunch agitation.”
