NC lying, claims Khan

Jammu, July 22: The PDP legislator Murtaza Khan has denied that he manhandled the NC MLC and the former Chief Secretary Vijay Bakaya.
“The statement issued by the National Conference is not based on facts. These are sheer lies,” Khan told Greater Kashmir on Sunday.
He said that Vijay Bakaya and he had a slight argument over he (Bakaya) being the member of the House Committee set up to look into the land acquired for the Industrial Estate Samba phase-III. “The meeting was held four days ago and I had pointed out that Bakaya sahib should not be the member of this committee as he had taken a view over the issue when he was in service. It was just an argument. After a brief argument the matter was sorted out and the meeting was held,” Khan said.
He expressed surprise over NC raking up the issue after four days. “Had I manhandled anyone they would have issued the press note on the same day. It is just a ploy to intimidate me. A few of the NC leaders had telephoned me and had asked me to take a certain view which I opposed. I have recorded their conversations and will expose them,” he added.
