KU remembers IT guru at condolence meet

Srinagar, July 23: A joint meeting of the members of Kashmir University Teachers Association (KUTA), Kashmir University Officers Association (KUOA) and Kashmir University Ministerial Staff Association (KUMSA) was held today in the Convocation Complex to condole the demise of the University’s Director Information Technology Dr. Meraj-ud-Din who passed away on Sunday.
The KU Vice-Chancellor chaired the condolence meeting, describing Dr Meraj-ud-Din as a “visionary academic” whose contribution to IT and e-governance in the University wings would be always remembered. Talat expressed solidarity with the bereaved family and also prayed for peace to the departed soul. Prof Talat announced suspension of class-work in various teaching departments of the University in remembrance of Dr Meraj-ud-Din.
Others who spoke on the occasion included Prof A M Shah, Dean Academic Affairs, Registrar KU Prof Syed Fayaaz , Prof Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Sangmi, President KUTA, Prof Shabir A Bhat Director Business School, Prof A R Yousuf, Dr M S Sumbli President ( KUOA) and Ghulam Jeelani, President KUMSA.
