Ramesh interacts with KU students
Srinagar, July 23: Union Minister for Rural Development, Jairam Ramesh today interacted with the representatives of the Kashmir University Students’ Executive Council and senior academic administrators of the varsity at recently inaugurated Sheikh Hamza Makhdoom guesthouse at Naseem Bagh, here.
The Minister spoke at length about the scope of national schemes like Himmayat and Uddan in providing training cum job avenues to the youth of the valley. To mention, the programme HIMMAYAT was launched in J&K from the university of Kashmir last year.
He impressed upon the youth including Kashmir university students to take full advantage of these schemes. He also narrated success stories of some of the trainees of these programme.
The students posed a series of questions to the minister during the interactive meet. On this occasion the minister also launched a (cafe coffee day) CCD outlet at the university campus situated near the new guesthouse in Naseem Bagh.
The outlet will become operational in a month’s time and will provide edibles on concession rates.
