Srinagar, July 25: The Law Enforcement Agency (LEA) of Agriculture Department has mobilized its field functionaries to monitor the distribution of quality inputs to farming community.
 This was disclosed at the review meeting convened by Director Law Enforcement J&K M S Katoo, who directed the Enforcement officers to ensure quality control and book defaulting dealers.
 During the meeting it was revealed that during the current year, 305 samples of Pesticide, 177 samples of Fertilizers and 57 Samples of Seeds were collected from April 2012 till date. “Out of this 30 samples of Pesticides and 3 samples of Fertilizers were declared Mis-branded/Non-standard.”
 Action has been taken in respect of Pesticides Dealers, where in 43 prosecutions have been sanctioned during 2011-2012 and challans have been presented in different courts of law in various districts of Valley, where the cases are being pursued vigorously by the department.
