Car plunges into gorge;1 killed near Ramban

Ramban, July 27: Atleast one person was killed on spot while four others sustained injuries when a car, they were traveling, skidded off the road in Kanga area, 15 kilometers short of district headquarters Ramban, police said.
They said that a Maruti Alto car was on its way from village Sangaldan of tehsil Gool to district Udhampur met with a mishap near Kanga area at around 5 PM when its driver lost control over the vehicle.
Eyewitness said that before felling into river Chenab, the car entangled in tree resulting on spot death of one person and injuries to four others.
Some passerby who noticed the mishap informed the police which rescued all injured with the help of locals and shifted them to district hospital Ramban. After administering first aid treatment all the injured were later shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu.
The deceased has been identified as Prem Singh a resident of Sangaldan of tehsil Gool who was presently posted as medical assistant in district hospital Udhampur. The injured have been identified as Awina (7), Palvi (10) daughters of Prem Singh, his wife Sushena Devi and Rakesh Kumar son of Chuni Lal all residents of Sangaldan of tehsil Gool.
