Tourism hype

 This refers to Inksight column “More Tourist Destinations”, by Mehmood-ur-Rashid, (GK July 19, 2012). The author has very rightly raised some grim issues with regard to the much hyped tourism. He has raised a very important issue of the agricultural lands getting converted into the concrete jungle of buildings. It is a grave concern that our agricultural lands get converted into the concrete residential colonies and commercial establishments. Tourism is not bad but as they say excess of everything is bad, we must not forget other equally important things. As tourism related activities grow fast, pastures and farmlands die which certainly is not a good sign. I hope Mehmood Ur Rashid will continue with such articles in future also.
