JK holds great potential for aroma industry

Srinagar, July 2: Minister for Science and Technology Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi today said that Aroma Industry in J&K has great scope for job opportunities.
 The minister said as the Aroma Industry has immense potential to flourish in several districts of Kashmir valley and Jammu division, it can help youth earn their livelihood with dignity.
 The Minister was addressing an inaugural function of 2-day national seminar “Catalyzing the growth of Aroma Industry in Jammu and Kashmir”  organized by CSIR- Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM), J&K ” at Sanat Nagar today.
 The Minister said IIIM has been doing Yeoman’s service in providing a platform for exchange of knowledge and skills on present practices relevant to essential oils and aroma products.
 Stressing for enlisting recent issues concerning the essential oil trends, the Minister asked the management of IIIM to find solution to the problems confronting Indian Aroma Industry.
 Director, IIIM, Dr. R. Vishwakarma said that main objective of the seminar is to provide synergetic platform for discussion and closer interaction among participants and stakeholders coming from different backgrounds and institutions.  The Minister went to various units of the Institute which include Leather Training Centre.
 Several dignitaries from across the country took part in panel discussion and suggested certain concrete recommendations for boosting Aromatic Industry in the State.
