BLACKTOPPING THE BLACKTOPPED!

NEWS SHOOTS

At a time when roads of many City areas continue to be dilapidated for years, the Roads and Building (R&B) department recently got the fashionable Silk Factory road at Raj Bagh blacktopped again even though people said the track was giving a smooth drive. But may be the VIPs who prefer this road for a drive to Airport wanted another blacktopping coat. As with regard to the public complaints, the R&B seems to have given up its ears for such voices. Despite public resentment, the department is coming with a skewed bridge in the same Raj Bagh area. The department doesn’t feel bothered to reply public queries: Be it their routine ones regarding blacktopping discrimination or specific one pertaining to the skewed bridge which is being constructed in violation to Master Plan as is feared to be disastrous for City’s sole heritage walkway: The Bund.
