GKWT distributes relief among fire victims
Srinagar, July 30: Upholding its endeavour of providing succour to the needy, Greater Kashmir Welfare Trust on Monday distributed relief among fire victims of Malaratta in Shaher-e-Khaas whose dwellings were gutted earlier this month.
A high level team from the GKWT led by Greater Kashmir’s Printer, Publisher and President Rashid Makhdoomi and the President Human Resource, Muhammad Siddique, visited the area to distribute relief cheques.
The relief, as per the GKWT team, was provided after scrutiny of the cases and depending upon the damages they had incurred.
“Nineteen households were provided relief as per the quantum of damages,” Siddique said.
Addressing the fire victims, Makhdoomi said: “Disasters like fire are often testing times from the Almighty.” “And in this crucial juncture one should maintain patience, pray to the Almighty and equally work hard,” Makhdoomi said.
The President HR Muhammad Siddique in his brief address apprized the people that the GKWT was committed to “help the needy in testing times.”
Meanwhile the locals appreciated the GKWT endeavour. “Relief from GKWT has come as a blessing for us,” victims of the July 18 fire said.
