Naatiya Mushaira held
SRINAGAR, JULY 30: The Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages Monday organised a Naatiya Mushaira where poets from various parts of the valley pronounced Naats in praise of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Prominent poet, Muzaffar Iraj presided over the Mushaira while poets Hamdam Kashmiri and Rafiq Raaz also attended the function.
In his presidential address, Muzaffar Iraj appreciated the Cultural Academy for organising the Mushaira and said that such events should be held on regular basis.
Commenting on the event, secretary JKAACL, Khalid Bashir Ahmad said the Academy was duty bound to hold such events. He also said that organising Mushairas was part and parcel of Academy’s routine activities and would continue to remain so.
Some of the prominent poets who participated in the Mushaira included Muzafar Iraj, Rafiq Raaz, Hamdam Kashmiri, Dr Shafaq Sopori, Shoaib Rizvi, Rukhsana Jabeen, Dr. Nazir Azad, Ashraf Adil, Dr Syed Raza, Sajad Hussain, Imdad Saqi, Parveen Raja, Gazanfar Ali Shahbaz, Dr Ashraf Asari, Zahid Mukhtar, Roaf Rahat, Ather Bashir, Waheed Musafir and Nighat Nazar.
