Woodland, Vasanta win matches
U-16 PRESIDENTS’ CUP
Srinagar, July 30: In the ongoing Under-16 Presidents Cup Cricket Tournament, two matches were played at Boys High School Sonwar ground here on Monday.
In the first match, Woodland defeated Saint Paul 126 runs. Batting first, Woodland scored 201 run s for the loss of five wickets in allotted 20 overs. Wadood with 73 was highest scorer for them. In reply, Saint Paul were bundled out for 73 runs. Wadood took three wickets for Woodland. He was adjudged man of the match for his all-round performance.
In the second match, Vasanta High school defeated Muslim Public school by six wickets. Batting first, Muslim Public scored 128 for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs. Faizaan took two wickets for Vasanta.
In reply, Vasanta achieved required target for the loss of four wickets in 12 overs. Aqib with 59 was highest scorer for them. Aqib for his match winning knock was adjudged as man of the match.
The event is being organised by All J&K Cricket Players Association.
