Srinagar, July 3: J&K Bank kicked off new premises of its business unit at Nagam with an on-site ATM.
 Bashir Ahmad Lone, Bank’s President & Zonal Head for Kashmir Central and Abdul Rashid Shigan, Bank’s Vice-President jointly inaugurated the new premises and the ATM amid an impressive customer meet at Nagam in district Budgam.
 Stating that J&K Bank has right from its inception worked for making people of J&K “financially empowered” and “self-reliant”, Lone said, “Our history has been that of transformation of people’s lives by making them financially empowered and self reliant.”
 “We have all along innovatively exploited the potential of state’s economy,” he said, adding that J&K Bank’s “creative financial intervention” has led to the “boost” the key sectors like agriculture, horticulture, handicrafts and tourism and in the process lives of hundreds of thousands of people have been made “better”.
 Stressing that J&K Bank “unlike other banks operating in the state,” doesn’t believe in “selective or elite class banking”, Lone sought public cooperation in helping J&K Bank retain its monopoly in the state.
 “Your support is key to our success and strength and it shall continue to inspire us in creating growth stories and employment avenues, directly through recruitment and indirectly through entrepreneurship development and financing businesses”, he said.
 He informed the gathering that the Bank by the “efforts of its chairman Mushtaq Ahmad has acquired licence for opening 15 more branches in Budgam district.”
