Her book on Muslim names surprises many
Srinagar, July 4: Believe it or not, Maneka Gandhi who has authored a number of books, has written one on the meanings of Muslim names.
The book is being seen as the only world over, from leading publication house the Penguin, titled: Pengiun Book of Muslim names.
For many, this came as a surprise Wednesday at the Lalit Grand Palace when some officials scheduled to call on the visiting dignitary happened to ask a child the meaning of his name in the hotel lawns.
And, this was when she corrected the duo explaining the meaning. Her knowledge on Muslim names surprised many present there who asked her how she knows about their meanings so much.
Though she tried to avoid the question during the informal chat, her staffer informed them that she has authored the book which is even taught at varsities world over.
Finally, Gandhi revealed that she had to study eleven languages for around five years before she came up with the research based book, published around a decade back. Her son’s name Feroz also figures in the book.
