Police solves murder case, arrests accused

Recovers Property Worth Lakhs

Srinagar, July 4: Police has solved a murder case and arrested the accused from Punjab.
 Addressing a press conference Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Srinagar, Syed Ashiq Hussain Bukhari said that on June 25, the cops of Police Station Nishat found a corpse floating in Dal Lake near Shikara Ghat Laam.
 SSP said that the postmortem of the deceased was conducted at JLNM Hospital. On the same day, Viky Saberwal resident of Gandhi Nagar, Jammu approached Nehru Park Police for lodging missing report of his brother Booby Saberwal who as per his version had gone missing a month ago when he left his house accompanied a bus driver Ropinder Singh of Bani Keema Ludhaina, Punjab.
 On June 29, the bus driver was apprehended and during interrogation he confessed that on 28 May , he killed the man by hitting him with a stone on his head.
 Meanwhile SSP Bukhari said due to continued efforts against burglaries and thefts, police has been able to recover stolen property worth about 15 lakh rupees.
