HDFC Bank opens branch in Islamabad

Islamabad (Anantnag), July 5: HDFC Bank, the second largest private bank in the country, opened its third branch in Islamabad (Anantnag) today, taking the total number of its branches in J&K to 37.
Farooq A Shah, Deputy Commissioner, Islamabad (Anantnag) inaugurated the branch in presence of senior officials of the Bank.
Shah on the occasion appreciated the bank for its “growth and expansion plans and for bringing world class services to the doorsteps of the people in far flung areas.” Shah urged the banks to work for eradicating the unemployment problem in the district by facilitating loans to the unemployed youth.
He said: “We have a credit plan of Rs 490 crore and we will try to ensure that the banks clear the cases related to loan facilities to the unemployed youth of the District within 15 days.”
The Deputy Commissioner congratulated the Vice President of HDFC Bank, Zubair Iqbal for being “instrumental is unprecedented growth of HDFC Bank in the state.”
Zubair Iqbal, Vice President & Circle Head (J&K), said, “The focus of the bank is to reach out to the large unbanked segment in the region and provide banking solutions and accessibility to funds.”
