Government School gutted at Bagh-e-Mehtab
Srinagar, May 31: The building of Government Middle School Bagh-e-Mehtab on city outskirts suffered partial damage in a fire incident on Thursday.
Witnesses said the fire broke out around 5pm which engulfed the top floor of the building and gutted it completely. “The damage could have been minimized if the fire brigade had reached on time,” they said.
According to residents the fire tenders faced massive difficulty to reach near the main entrance of the colony as it was blocked due to the drain construction. “Large vehicles find it difficult to enter from the railway bridge end as the road is narrow while the road towards Nowgam has been blocked for many years as the drain is yet to be completed,” they said.
