Series of protests rock city

 Jammu: Many political and social organizations today staged demonstration in Jammu to register their protest against steep hike in the petrol prices.

JAMMU KASHMIR DEMOCRATIC FRONT

 The JKDF activists, led by front chairman Anil Gupta   staged a “dharna” in front of Pt. Prem Nath Dogra’s statue at Dogra Chowk.
 Addressing the protesters, Anil Gupta said, “We had no other option but to come on the street against this illogical decision. This Government has added to the sufferings of common masses, who are already crushed under the burden of high inflation rate. We strongly condemn this hike of Rs 7.50 per liter which has left an adverse impact on the masses and will further raise the inflation level  ”.

HINDU SHIV SENA
 Activists of Hindu Shiv Sena, led by their president, Arjun Sharma tried to disrupt rail traffic at Railway Station Jammu but their attempt was foiled by police force present on the spot in heavy numbers. After this incident the protesters move towards Channi Himmat and staged their protest on the rail track. 

HINDUSTAN SHIV SENA
 The activists of Hindustan Shiv Sena (HSS) staged protest at Karan Market against the petrol price hike. Led by president HSS Dimpy Kohli and general secretary HSS G I Singh, the protesters raised slogans against the Union Government.

DOGRA FRONT 
 In support of the national wide Bandh against fuel hike, Dogra Front and Shiv Sena Bala Sahib Thakray took out a scooter protest rally. They also  set ablaze a scooter at City Chowk to express their anger..
 The protesters were raising slogans against the Union government and demanding immediate roll back of hike in petrol prices.

CPI (M)
 Jammu Regional Committee of Communist Party of India (Marxist) CPI(M) staged protest outside Press Club Jammu and later they took out a protest rally  .
 Holding placards and red flags in their hands, a large number of party activists participated in the demonstration.
 Amid chanting of slogans against hike in petrol prices and   Central government, the protesters in form of rally marched towards Indira Chowk. The rally started from press club and after passing through Jewel Chowk, Gumat Chowk, Bus stand area it culminated at Indira Chowk.
