Children participating in 35th 'National Learn To Live Together Camp' call on Governor
Srinagar, june 9: Governor N. N. Vohra , on Saturday said that National Integration Camps provide a useful opportunity for the children to meet their counterparts from various parts of the country, observe and understand the clothing and eating habits and languages of other communities. He added that such interactions contribute towards strengthening national integration and build harmonious understandings.
The Governor and First lady of the state, Usha Vohra, were interacting with nearly 200 children from various States and Union Territories of the country, who visited the Raj Bhavan here today. These children are participating in the week-long 35th “National Learn to Live Together Camp” organized by the Indian Council for Child Welfare (ICCW), New Delhi, from 3rd to 10th June, 2012 at Srinagar.
The Governor observed that the people of India are simple and good hearted and want to meet people from other parts of the country. He lauded the ICCW for organizing an Integration Camp at Srinagar and assured of all possible support for holding similar Camps in Ladakh and Jammu regions in future. He appreciated the acting Director General of Police, K. Rajendra, for providing prompt support for the Camp to be organized at Srinagar.
