Mirwaiz pays tributes to 2010 unrest victims
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, June 9: Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (M) Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Saturday paid glowing tributes to the youth who laid down their lives during 2010 unrest.
Mirwaiz said that despite peaceful path followed by the people of Kashmir to press for right to self determination “New Delhi brutally attempted to suppress the Kashmiri voice by murdering the young souls.”
“They used violent and brutal methods to crush the Kashmiri voice in 2008 and 2010. Thousands others sustained injuries due to state sponsored violence on innocent people. Cold-blooded murders of young souls are testimony to the war crimes committed in Kashmir.”
Mirwaiz also castigated the government for not filling an FIR against the forces involved in their killing. “No FIR has been lodged against the guilty personnel involved in the killings and injuring Kashmiris. It clearly reflects the government’s anti-people policy.”
“Lakhs of people have laid their lives for a cause. These sacrifices were not for economic packages. Kashmiris can never forget their martyrs and the cause for which they laid down their lives. Army build-up or strength could not suppress the people’s aspirations.”
He said that lingering resolution of Kashmir was the biggest hurdle in the way of peace and progress in South Asia. “Without peace in the region efforts to increase trade and progress was futile exercise.”
