Says physical fitness leads to educational development

SRINAGAR, JUNE 9: As a part of civic action programme, Jammu and Kashmir Police distributed various sports kits to the students of Lal Public High School at a simple function held in the school premises here today. The Director General of Police (DGP),  K. Rajendra Kumar was the chief guest on the function.
 Speaking on the occasion, Rajendra said that Jammu and Kashmir Police is discharging professional policing and has remained on forefront in promoting sports and cultural activities in the State. The Organization has been focussing in the sports arena is has providing assistance to the sports lovers under its Civic Action Programme. Qualitative education has also remained our concern and the Organization has been providing support to various educational institutions in order to enhance their teaching facilities on modern lines, said the DGP.
 Highlighting the importance of quality education in the present times, the DGP said that education should be our priority and the parents in particular have an important role to mould their children in right direction. He said that the society has also to play their role in improving the educational standards so that our children could perform at national level competitions in better way. He said that during the years of conflict our State has suffered a lot especially in the field of education and now with the cooperation of people a congenial atmosphere has prevailed and our youth have started to excel in the highest professional competitions of the country. This is a good sign and the students should get inspiration from these talented youth who have excelled in different fields and of urged them to earn a good name for the State, he added.
 On the occasion, sports kits including football, volleyball cricket and race kits were donated to the Institution by the DGP. He said that sports activities keep a person physically and mentally fit leading his proper growth in the field of education. He lauded the school administration and role of parents in enhancing the standards of education in the Institution and said that Jammu and Kashmir Police would provide coaching facilities way of utilising services of their professional coaches for the students of the Institution to refine their talent in the field of sports.
 The students presented colourful cultural programmes on the occasion and the DGP assured them that every possible assistance would be provided to the Institution to enhance its educational activities.
