SMC to start online building permissions soon: Nasir

Srinagar, June 9: The Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) is starting online Building Permission System shortly, an official handout said. The modalities for this ambitious plan were reviewed at a high level meeting held under the Chairmanship of the Minister of State for Home, Housing and Urban Development Nasir Aslam Wani.
The Principal Secretary, Housing and Urban Development, Suresh Kumar, officers of LAWDA, Town Planning Organization, PWD and PDD were also present in the meeting.
The Minister asked the authorities of SMC to complete the process of E-governance for the convenience of the general people. He said in the present era of internet, the provision of online Building Permission facilities to the people will be a great step towards e-governance.
“The Minister was apprised by the Commissioner SMC, Dr GN Qasba that under the on-line building permission system, the applicants shall have to register their cases under single window and all the departments shall provide their NOCs about the case online without hankering after various departments,” the handout said.
Dr Qasba said the civic body aims to make its services hassle-free for the Srinagarites. “We want to make the SMC services a click away for the residents of this historic City,” Dr Qasba said.
