GPEA demands probe into seniority list

Srinagar:  Government Press Employees Association (GPEA) on Monday demanded fair and impartial probe by state government into, what they termed, irregularities in their seniority list.
In a statement here, the Association alleged that some blue eyed persons have been favored by higher ups of Government Press in seniority list made recently. “An employee of Jammu cadre is also figuring in the list,” the statement added.
“The seniority list of both the divisions is being maintained separately and how can they promote an employee from Jammu cadre here. The illegal move has blocked promotion and advancement avenues of employees of this region,” they said, adding that “The move is sheer injustice and discrimination with us and we appeal state government to order a probe into the matter.”
