Protests in Rafiabad

Srinagar: Scores of people on Monday staged a demonstration in Rafiabad area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district after a youth was hit allegedly by an Army vehicle.
Locals told Greater Kashmir over phone that youth took to streets in Sadpora Rafiabad this afternoon after a local youth, Fayaz Ahmad Wani, son of Riyaz Ahmad Wani, of Sadpora Rafiabad was hit allegedly by an Army vehicle. “The youth was shifted to SKIMS Srinagar for treatment,” they said. Superintendent of Police Sopore Imtiyaz Hussain said police are investigating the matter. “We have lodged an FIR,” he said.
Later, Police reached on the spot and assured the protesters that whosoever is involved would be dealt with. Following the assurance protesters dispersed off peacefully.
