KHARA delegation calls on Taj
Srinagar, June 12: Kashmir Hotel and Restaurant Association (KHARA) today took up the issue of enhancement in water tax with minister for PHE Taj Mohiuddin.
A delegation of KHARA led by its president, M Showkat Chowdhary, held a marathon meeting with the minister at Civil Secretariat, here today. The delegation expressed serious concern over the enhancement of water tax to hotels, guesthouses and restaurants, KHARA in a statement said.
The minister, according to the statement, suggested the delegation that all Hotel, Guest House & Restaurant Owners should approach the Chief Engineer PHE and “seek reassessment of their water usage agreements.” The minister further suggested that all Hotel, Guest House & Restaurants should bore tube well for bathroom and other washings.
