NC alone can ensure development of far-flung areas: Dr Kamaal

‘Cong Should Desist From Harassing Our Workers’

Jammu (Kishtawar) June 12: National Conference Tuesday reiterated what it called its “commitment to reach out to the remotest corners of J&K”, asserting that the party alone “can ensure development, peace and progress of the entire state.”
Addressing party conventions at Kishtwar and Kastigarh, the NC’s Additional General Secretary Dr. Mustafa Kamaal assured people that the party “will redouble its efforts to ensure that the benefits of development percolate to these remote and backward areas and that essentials of life like rations, water, electricity, education, health and road connectivity are made available to these places, as and when required.”
In his address, Kamal highlighted the “achievements” of the coalition government, asserting that “in a short span of three and a half years the government headed by Omar Abdullah has crossed many milestones and one of them is the successful Panchayat elections.”
“Formation of Panchayat Raj system has certified the adage ‘power by the people, for the people and of the people’. It has finally come true for the state through NC,” Kamal said.
Kamaal warned its alliance partner Congress not to “harass” its party cadres in far flung areas of the state represented by NC MLAs.
“Such an attitude will prove disastrous for Congress in the coming days”, he said.
He said NC is committed to “safeguard communal harmony and ensure justice to all without discrimination on the basis of religion, region, language, colour, caste or creed.”
Kamal alleged that the opposition PDP is “a bundle of lies and falsehood and everyone should be cautioned not to give credence to this party whose agenda is to spread lies.”
