‘Congress legislators under pressure to quit’
GANDOH (DODA), JUNE 13: Former Minister and Member Legislative Assembly Bhaderwah Mohammad Sharief Naiz today said that non-representation in the state cabinet has put the Congress legislators of Chenab Valley under severe pressure to quit.
“The local populace and dedicated workers are pressuring Congress legislators from erstwhile Doda to quit from the membership of the legislation as the party has failed to give proper representation to the area”, Niaz rued while addressing a Youth Congress rally here.
“We have no answer to the queries of the people who always want to know as why Jammu from where only three legislators were voted to power out of total eleven assembly segments has got the maximum representation in the state cabinet”, the Congress MLA said.
He claimed that the local populace is annoyed with the Congress, following non-implementation of various developmental schemes, as the sitting ministers in coalition both from Congress as well as National Conference, are preferring their home constituencies first to save their own vote bank.
“The workers and leaders from erstwhile Doda have worked day in and day out to strengthen its roots in Doda but the party may face serious debacle due to the non-serious attitude towards this region”, he lamented.
He urged upon the party high command to take corrective measures and give representation to Doda legislators to save the Congress castle, “otherwise it will be captured by the opposition parties”.
