Delhi-Srinagar flight makes emergency landing

JAMMU, JUNE 13: More than 130 passengers and crew of a Delhi bound flight had a miraculous escape after the aircraft made an emergency landing here at Jammu airport on Wednesday morning.
According to sources, the Indigo flight 6E-551 from Delhi to Srinagar via Jammu suddenly developed some technical snag and pilots of aircraft detected plumes of smoke from the lower portion of the plane, thorough censors.
“The pilots sounded emergency to Jammu Airport authorities and landed the aircraft safely. The passengers were unaware about the situation until they were asked to exit from the Aircraft by the crew members” sources said.
“Preliminary examination of the aircraft revealed that leakage of Fire bottle kept in the hold area of the plane had caused smoke,” sources claimed.
They said that the Indigo flight took off for Srinagar at around 5:20 PM, eight hours late from its scheduled time
