Pension verification up to July 31

Srinagar, June 13: Government today extended the date for verification of documents of pensioners up to July 31, 2012.
According to a Finance Department handout, the date has been extended for the convenience of the pensioners. It said the pension for July 2012 payable in August 2012 shall not be paid without prescribed verification certificates.
It said the treasury officers have been instructed to exempt such pensioners from personnel appearance who are ill, old aged or have other valid reasons. “The Treasury Officers have been directed to depute a member of the Treasury staff to their residence for such verification,” it said. “Similarly, procedure of verification of the pensioners residing aboard as laid down in the rules should be strictly followed for convenience of the senior citizens,” it said.
