Youth with wife, kids held on LoC

MENDHAR, JUNE 13: A youth was arrested immediately after he crossed over to this side of Line of Control (LoC) alongwith his wife and three children in a forward area here on Wednesday.
Official sources said that soldiers manning a forward post at Pagwari noticed some suspicious movement along the Line of Control and immediately sounded an alert.
Subsequently the soldiers noticed a couple and their three children moving towards the Indian territory.
“As the suspects were found to be unarmed they were allowed to enter the Indian territory and subsequently detained”, official sources, on the condition of anonymity said, adding, “The youth later identified himself as Mukhtiyar Ahmed son of Mathoo of Surankote”, they said.
Police, however, said that the family have not been handed over to it by the army till late this evening. “We are ascertaining the facts but can comment only after the suspects are handed over to us”, a senior police officer said.
