Environment Committee meets

Amarnath Yatra 2012

Srinagar, June 14: A meeting of Committee on Environment (EC) of Legislative Assembly was held here on Thursday under the chairmanship of MLA Ashok Khajuria, an official spokesman said. 
 He said threadbare discussion was held on the functioning of the committee and other environmental related issues particularly pertaining to Amarnath Yatra.
 Committee urged the District Administration Gandebal, Anantnag to make all necessary arrangements for the Yatris at all base camps including sanitary and healthcare facilities.
 The Committee also decided to visit the Yatra base camps before and during the Yatra period to assess and monitor the arrangements made by the administration for convenience of Yatris.
