Rs85 cr plan approved for Kulgam

Kulgam, June 14: The District Development Board today approved a Rs  84.82 crore District Plan for Kulgam for 2012-13.
 The board meeting here was held under the chairmanship of Minister for Forests and Environment Mian Altaf Ahmed who is the chairman of DDB Kulgam.
 DDC, Kulgam   Jehangir Mir informed the meeting that against Rs 88.59 crore previous plan, the district booked Rs 88.39 crore expenditure ended March 2012 representing 99.77 per cent of the total allocation.
 He said under R&B sector, road length of 32.30 km was blacktopped, 57.90 km was made roadworthy, 101 culverts, pipe culvers with Rs 16.52 crore, were constructed during the last year.
 He said 8 schemes stand completed in the above sector. Under PHE sector 5 schemes were completed and drinking were facilities provided to 3475 souls.
 The DDC, Kulgam informed the meeting that Rs 11.90 crore for R&B sector, Rs 4.79 crore for PHE, Rs 11.76 crore for Irrigation, Rs 3.62 crore for rural development, Rs 1.90 crore for healthcare, Rs 3.75 crore for education and Rs 2.86 crore for social welfare under nutrition have been projected for 2012-13, an official statement said.
