Where is varsity administration?
Srinagar, June 14: It seems authorities at the University of Kashmir have lost grip over the administration. That is why even the lower rung officials seem to be defying official orders.
In a glaring instance of “administrative mess” in the University, the authorities have failed to implement an order on rotational transfer policy whereby 39 Junior Assistants were transferred within the University. The Order, copy of which is with Greater Kashmir, was issued on May 23. However, it found little takers till June 9, making the University to get it implemented forcefully vide another order.
Vide Order No F (Transfer-Gen Admn) KU/12, the University has mentioned that “the officials who have been transferred under a rotational transfer policy but failed to join their respective new place of postings shall be deemed to have been relieved with immediate effect. They shall be required to join the new place of posting within 2 days positively failing which they shall be treated on leave, whatever kind due thereafter,” the fresh Order reads.
The Order has asked the “Deputy Registrar Accounts to keep the salary for the month of June 2012 withheld to the employees who shall fail to join to their respective place of postings.”
“The Order has still not been implemented fully,” said a University source. “This speaks volumes about lack of accountability in the University where lower rung officials have the audacity to call the shots and defy official orders.”
