Ex-corporator booked for assault

JAMMU, JUNE 15: Police booked a former Corporator, Surinder Singh Shingari, for allegedly beating a woman and her son, here today.
 The victims have been identified as Manpreet Singh son of Harpreet Singh and his mother, residents of Bakshi Nagar Jammu.
 Police said that last night Manpreet Singh was playing near the Finance Company’s office of SS Shingari. “Under the influence of liquor SS Shingari threatened the boy and when mother objected over it, the accused allegedly thrashed her and the son and also broke down some household articles” the victims informed police.
 They further said that a case has been registered against ex-coporator SS Shingari under section 107/51.
