Leh, June 15: Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, today inaugurated a Philately Exhibition ‘Leh Filmpex-2012’ here.
Minister for Tourism, Nawang Rigzin Jora, Minister of State for Tourism Nasir Aslam Wani, and Chief Postmaster General, J&K John Samuel were present.
The exhibition being held on sidelines of Ladakh International Film Festival is based on films only.
More than 40,000 stamps from around 100 countries on films are on display at the exhibition.
Stamps on Marilyn Monroe, Charlie Chaplin, Raj Kapoor, Satyajit Ray, M.G.Ramachandran, Sivaji Ganesan, Madhubala, Devika Rani, Nuten, Leela Naidu, Savitri, Nagris, Kishore Kumar, Mukesh, Hemant Kumar, Dadasaheb Phalke, Elvis Presley and a host of other film personalities from India and across the world are being displayed.
The exhibition will conclude on June 17.
