Rs 105 cr district plan approved for Budgam

Budgam, June 16: The District Development Board Budgam in its meeting held under the chairmanship of Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Hassan Mir today approved Rs 105.21 Cr annual plan for Budgam for the current fiscal. The plan includes Rs 43.33 crore as Revenue Component and Rs 61.88 crore as capital component. The capital component constitutes about Rs 34.74 crore state share, over Rs 21.94 crore NABARD Loan and over Rs 5.20 crore Additional Central Assistance (ACA).
Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman of the Board, Mir called for prioritizing the ongoing road projects and other development schemes so that these are completed within the time frame and their benefits could percolate down to the people at gross root level, an official statement said. He directed the district administration to focus on remote, Kandi and bad pockets of the district to improve basic amenities there. He said people have pinned high hopes with the present Government and the administration should endeavour to come up to their expectations.
Mir directed strict implementation of the decisions taken in the DDB, adding that non compliance in this regard would be viewed seriously
Mir called for a holistic approach to improve literacy rate in the district adding the DDC should coordinate with various education implementation agencies like SSA, RAMSA, elementary education, Adult education in this regard. He also called for appropriate measures to improve HT/LT network in far flung areas of the district
Briefing about the achievements registered during last fiscal, the DDC Budgam said that 99.69 percent of the funds were expended during the period.
